Just watched the first two episodes of a great japanese series called Shopping Hero. This is one of the most amazing shows I have ever seen. My sister tried comparing it to Sports Night when she was describing it to me, but a better description would be Sports Night on crack. Here’s a description I saw of the first episode:
Diligent, mild-mannered Makoto works in the complaints department of Paradise Corporation, a fast-growing home-shopping firm. Makoto has a crush on Yuka, the queen of home shopping demonstrators, but he discovers Yuka and President Teraoka’s secret. One day, Yuka doesn’t show up in time for the show. In order to save the show, and so that Yuka’s efforts will not have been in vain, Makoto appears before the cameras as Shopping Hero, in a Zorro-like costume, and begins pitching her product. His performance is such a success, that the president orders him to repeat his performance the next week. Starring Nakamura Shunsuke, Kawahara Ayako, Kusakari Masao.
That doesnt even begin to describe this series though. You just have to see it for yourself.
