Things are looking up

Latest word from the hospital in Florida is that my Grandmother is apparently in better spirits than she has been in the past year.  My Granfather says she’s smiling for the first time in months.  She actually ate 4 ounces of Lasagna, tonight- for the last few weeks the only thing she’d eaten was Ensure milkshakes.

Meanwhile- nearly everyone I’ve told about the Wawa thing has been outraged by it, so that makes me feel a little better about it.  A couple of people have mentioned boycotting the store, though.  I’m not sure I want things to go that way or not, but it makes me feel better to know that people would be willing to do it for me.

Anyway… I’m planning to go up to Penn State Abington tomorrow to find out about enrolling for the next semester.   I think i’m gonna try a semester or two full time without working… Don’t know if I’ll be able to get in or not, though.  I kinda screwed things up when I went to Montco. Hopefully, they’ll give me a chance to redeem myself.   Wish m eluck!

When it rains, it pours.

Wonderful.  Just wonderful.  My grandmother is in the hospital.   They got evacuated from their house because of Hurricane Frances, and she took that as her cue to stop eating or drinking anything.  She refuses to acknowledge that she’s depressed.  She seems to have decided that it’s her time to die, despite the fact that the only thing wrong with her that could kill her is the fact that she’s intentionally stopped eating.  This morning she started throwing up in their hotel room (they haven’t been able to get back home yet) and my grandfather took her to the hospital, where they started re-hydrating her.   That’s all we know at the moment.
