As for the original song, I’ve always wondered: What the hell is a “lord-a-leaping?”
Is that like when Jesus (the lord) magically ascended into heaven after being crucified? I’ve never thought of that as “leaping,” though, more like levitating, and I always thought that Christianity taught that there are one or three lords, not ten. That song bothers me.
