Anyone else out there remember “Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea?”

I’m a member of a mailing list about it. It’s a show that was on Nickelodeon circa 1986, which was a dub of an old french cartoon called Les Mondes Engloutis. It was on right around the same time as Mysterious Cities of Gold, if you remember THAT one. In it’s second season, it got a new theme song– performed by Menudo! (How 80s is THAT?)

Anyway, we’ve been talking on the list about what the chances are of the show seeing an american DVD relase, and it got me wondering how many people out there actually even remember the show.

I loved this show (but not as much as the vastly superior cities of gold) but couldn’t remember the name. Good ‘ol 6am cartoons, cartoons for the hardcore. Too bad I don’t remember anything from it except the kids going to the underworld and coming back two seasons later in time for dinner.

Damn, I usually remember all those good old Nick shows. I might recognize it if I see it. Those shows were a bit before my time though (I was just a teeny baby).
