DART303 Project 1 images

Making this post here because I’ve run out of storage in my Penn State account. Here is my work statement and my final renders for project 1.

I’ve designed the StrideSaver 3000, a delightfully impractical sit-and-stroll robot, as a response to the problem many people have of motivating themselves to get enough exercise. This project is an exploration of creative design and the humorous side of problem-solving, demonstrating that even the most whimsically impractical concepts can ignite amusement.

The StrideSaver 3000 is all about reimagining exercise in a playful manner. Its design marries a walking robot with the absurdity of getting your steps in from a chair.  It encourages users to embrace a humorous twist on fitness. This playful spirit is evident in the robot’s cartoonish design (inspired by Spongebob Squarepants), its user-friendly interface, and its entertaining quirks. In invites viewers to engage with fitness in an entertaining and entirely fanciful way.

Creating the StrideSaver 3000 reinforced the idea that sometimes, the most memorable solutions arise from embracing the absurd, even if it means indulging in self-delusion.

Travel blog

So I’ve lately taken to going on adventures- short trips to interesting places.   I’m thinking of turning this into a travel blog to share some of those adventures with the 0 people that are still seeing this.

My next trip will be next week, I’m going (with a group) down to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, Tennessee.    On the way we will be stopping at various roadside attractions such as Dinosaur Land and Foamhenge.   Then we will be staying a few nights in a cabin and seeing the local sights (especially Dollywood!)  My intention is to write several posts about the trip along with pictures.  We’ll see how that pans out

Hello potential employer!

I’m just putting this post here to say hello to a potential new employer who may be looking me up and stumble across this blog.  Hello, FocusMX person!    I may not blog very often, but I do know how!

I have access to this blog again!

For quite a long while I couldn’t access the admin pages of this thing.   I goofed up doing an update to wordpress, and couldn’t get into the admin pages.     And, since I had been using this so infrequently, I didn’t care enough to actually go to any effort to fix it.  Well, about half an hour ago, a good 2 1/2 years after I messed it up, a way to fix it finally occured to me.  And as you can see from this post, it worked.

I won’t bother going into detail about what has been going on in my life for the last 2 1/2 years, as I did that a few weeks ago in this livejournal post. Like I said over there, I’m not gonna make any promises regarding updating this more frequently, because I won’t keep them.    I kind of think I *WANT* to start updating this one regularly, though.    We’ll see.
